You see hundreds of people sleeping, shaving, bathing on the streets and beggers and local snobs smoking a sisha and backpackers close to the Gate of India and those black taxis... And you are one of them and nothing may happen to you. (17 Images)	Elephanta Island This small island is one hour away from Mumbai and holds some caves and some monkeys. Carvings on the rock show images from the hindi universe. Shops on the way to caves sell anything. (14 Images)	Ajanta Caves These caves 3 hours away from Aurangabad were excavated by hindus and budists. And painted! They need a lot of work to recover the past splendor. We went to see them directly from the train that brought us from Mumbai. It was hot and we were tired but they were worth the visit. (10 Images)
Ellora Caves The Ellora caves are one of the most impressive things we have seen. Carved in the mountain you can find a full temple with amasing sculptures, columns and details. Scenes from Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu, Parvati and the bull,... and even the Kamasutra. Expect to be aproached by students and a professor telling you that the names of the people who built this are unknown. They did it for no glory. (18 Images)	7 This is a stop in the way to Goa.
